RCN Increases Internet Speeds at No Additional Cost

Princeton, NJ – March 11, 2014 – Residential customers to enjoy automatic upgrade that increases upload speeds.

RCN, an industry-leading provider of high-speed Internet, digital TV and phone services, announced today that it has substantially increased Internet upload speeds for most of its residential Internet customers as a free upgrade.

RCN customers will experience the following upgrades to upload speeds at no cost:

  • 25Mbps Customers – from 2Mbps to 4Mbps upload
  • 50Mbps Customers – from 5Mbps to 10Mbps upload
  • 75Mbps Customers – from 10Mbps to 15Mbps upload

The upload speed increases have already been implemented and are automatic for existing customers, with no action required. New customers will also enjoy this additional benefit when they sign up with RCN. If existing customers do not experience the upgrade automatically, the faster speeds can be achieved with a simple reboot of their modem. Rebooting is an easy task.
