ARIN 33 Entrusts Conference Connectivity to RCN Business
RCN Business sponsors ARIN 33, delivering high-capacity fiber for
four-day Chicago event
Chicago, IL – April 15, 2014 – RCN Business, an industry-leading provider of high-speed Internet, voice, video and network solutions, announces that American Registry for Internet Numbers (ARIN) selected RCN Business as a conference communications provider for ARIN 33, a biannual public policy and member meeting. ARIN 33 is taking place at Chicago’s Drake Hotel from April 13-16, 2014. RCN is a conference sponsor, providing a reliable, high-capacity fiber connection for the four-day event.
ARIN 33 focuses on policy and technical issues and draws attendees from multiple industries, including Internet Service Providers (ISPs), network and wholesale service providers, universities, Internet bodies and U.S. and other government organizations responsible for Internet and Internet Protocol (IP) address assignment.
RCN Business is delivering the connectivity to all ARIN 33 conference attendees. In addition to communications within the event, ARIN 33 offers live webcasts, live transcripts, chat rooms and remote voting for attendees unable to attend onsite. In order to accomplish these tasks, ARIN 33 requires a communications provider in Chicago capable of delivering robust and reliable fiber-based business connectivity for the international event.
“ARIN 33 wouldn’t have been possible without reliable network sponsors to support connectivity for attendees, both onsite and off,” states Nate Davis, Chief Operating Officer of ARIN. “We had a complex list of sophisticated networking needs for the meeting, including IPv6 capability, and we were pleased RCN Business supported the ARIN community in this way.”
“RCN Business is pleased to provide network connectivity for ARIN 33 across our wholly-owned fiber network,” says Tom McKay, General Manager and Senior Vice President at RCN. “As an ARIN member, this is a great opportunity to support an event that benefits the Internet community. Chicago is one of RCN Business’ major markets, and for ARIN 33, we leveraged our ubiquitous network in Chicago to deliver high-capacity fiber for the event. We partner with businesses every day to provide reliable, secure and professionally managed services.”
